Staples

We learned something new today. A 20 story office building fits in the studio with room to spare! It's a good thing too, we need the scissor lift some 20 odd feet in the air for the overhead shot. All post work done in-house, well within a 2 day deadline. Good to Make it Happen.

iRobot

Alright, so we cast fifty pairs of feet, kept the babies from crying, scared a cat, and baited a couple dogs across a glass floor. Now when are we going to book that plane ticket and see this billboard campaign hanging over the M4 outside London?

Crisp and Clean

Sometimes its best on white, stripped down to the essence.

scooba 450

This new Scooba by iRobot is amazing! We can do a lot to hedge what you see in video and stills, we all know that never happens though... but this new technology is so cool, It sweeps, soaks, sucks and then dries all by itself.

For these images and videos we created a large multi- room set, so you'd see the continuity from room to room. We also built this huge platform with a 5ft x 7ft 1/2 tempered glass stretched across. It scientifically holds 1100 lbs, but I got up on it and jumped just to be sure. This gave us the opportunity to shoot the actual technology happening from underneath. Super cool, right?...  What do you have we can shoot from it's underside?

Home Connect

One of our first projects with Staples was to build a set to house their Home Connect device and make it live for both video and still work. What a great team to work with and an amazing project to be a part of.

Classe

So I placed a call to the Guggenheim in NYC. And one thing lead to another. Then why not another Frank Lloyd Wright building. So we did.

and Boca and Miami....

What mess?

How do you keep the attention span of a toddler take after take? Well, with this lil' guy, it was letting him help be part of the clean up team in-between shots.

Zoll

GOAL!! Shoot people in real trouble, but with a hopeful outcome.

roomba

iRobot needed a way to introduce the new technology they developed for the New Roomba, AeroForce. Technology always seems to be shown using renderings, which are great but we also wanted to show how it really works. Using a Phantom High Speed Video camera with a variety of snorkel lenses, we were able to get places and see things actually happening, and at 1500 frames per second you REALLY see how it works.

Roomba 800 overview

To Launch the Roomba 800 we created a large set at the studio that comprised a living room / kitchen / entryway set and a master bedroom / master bath set. The goal was to be able to show the Roomba doing all it's Roomba things, including a time-lapse from 20 ft overhead of its full 45 minute cleaning cycle ( shot with the infamous RED )

Still Shoot

And of course it always make sense to shoot the still campaign with the same sets and resources at the same time.

Princess

Princess House is a direct sale company that wanted to show relevance to a multi generational market. So we built kitchens that fit each, the starter apartment kitchen, the young successful family kitchen, the established families dinning room and the grandmothers downsized kitchen. And they all fit at the new studio.

popcorn

Need a theater? we build a set. pretty simple, 21 chairs, 5 decks, 5 models, 2 extras and a whole lot of popcorn. And at the end, a big mess.

coffee

We thought it would be fun to play with a coffee cup, and see how many scenarios we could create in the studio. Thanks for reving it up... Jennifer Dunlea /wardrobe, Hilary Warner / makeup and Kristie Raymond / casting.

Bloggin' away the day

With contributing bloggers from east to west coast, Home Goods wanted to take the opportunity to get a hand full of them together for one day of design and styling. The need was for 8 sets to be able to run simultaneously for a 1 day shoot and specialty blogger's event. Here you will find a few examples of a "Home Goods Happy" outcome at the XL.

looj

In order to avoid everybody spending june in Argentina, we built a house facade in the studio. The goal was a 2 story house that would match a stock autumn video clip, as it turned out we never used the clip. We brought a 25ft maple tree in, hung a 25ft high back lit photograph and used a lot of foliage paint and fake leaves and created the illusion we needed. Now of course, that tree in my parking lot is the easiest way to find the studio.

Soft,Tender and Tasty

I love zeroing in on just the best part that sparks your appetite. With playing with  focus and using the absolute minimum it really draws the eye to just what we want you to see.

Miraval Resort

OPRAH took her team here, Steve Case, founder of AOL bought it, we shot it. We got to hike up a desert mountain in the predawn dark, mountain bike through a cactus trail, and even shoot through a submerged aquarium in the pool.

CookingKids

Princess House is expanding there line to create some interaction with their customers kids, so the made these bright, fun and safe tools. So we made a video.

keurig

A cup of coffee I believe is a key component of business productivity.

Shot for GMR / Keurig

UNOS

Actually we did this shoot for Unos and the next time we talked to Chef Chris, he said they had sold over a 100,000 lbs of lobster over the course of 2 months, we were happy for the success of the campaign, but felt a little bad for all those lobsters. We kept seeing the images on TV and the Red Sox for quite a while... poor lobsters.

The Spread

When its about the presentation of the food and the food, its the spread that counts. If your feeding a couple or a clan, it takes some work, and to make it all happen at once it takes some magic.

ballet

These are the wonderful dancers from Jose' Mateo's Ballet Theatre. They are based in an old cathedral in Harvard square where they set their scenery amongst the roman columns that stretch 50 ft in the air. For the past 16 years, Jose' has given us the unique opportunity to work with him and his choreography and direct his dancers to the specific eye of my camera lens. I get to light it my way and create what ever drama I can add.

pretty

For T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, A.J.Wright, M Magazine, Aramark, Wearguard, B.J.'s, Casual Male, The Boston Globe and many others.

WalMart

Mirra by iRobot

The problem was how do we control the robot and the camera under the water. The conventional solution is hire a diver as the camera operator.

But I wanted the control, so we rigged a jib arm on a rail, and put an underwater housing on the camera so we could follow the robot any where in the pool and not have to worry about swimming or drowning.

classic

For a flash from the past, we did all the people having fun on the Polaroid camera packages for the last 6 years before they stopped. Met a lot of fun people and shot a couple of tons of polaroid film. Here's a small sample.

sports

We've worked for Reebok, New Balance, Stride right, Sperry Topsider, Tommy Hilfiger, Saucony, Weebok, Hine, Timberland...

weeds

Weed did this in the dead of winter with this crazy cool astro turf and a set at the back of the studio.

Half Baked

So much good in the world can be attributed to baked goods, see it even has the word good in its name.

shark

Great idea! Take pretty pictures. Load on pinterest. Social is good.

MOMA

The Happy Corp convinced MOMA to turn the Atlantic Pacific Subway station in Brooklyn into MOMA east by installing 100 reproductions of their Art. Raised huge awareness and gave the MOMA a more approachable impression... and us a unique opportunity to play with some models and some cool couture.

Braava

We built this loft apartment in the middle of the studio., had a large backlit vinyl made of a shot of the Boston skyline from an upper floor for the windows and then got busy. This with all its scrolling type and headlines was an instore at Bed Bath and Beyond.
